  1. I was so excited to see the film clip of the Bellancas escorting Kenny Neese. I am his granddaughter and have been collecting information for a book I want to write about him. I never met him, but he was an amazing man. More so, than most know. My mother, Betty Neese Guyer, passed away two years ago. I would love to help out or receive any information you might have on the early aviation times in ALaska. I have pics and movies from McGee and Star Airlines. Great moments in not only ALaska history, but aviation history. Great, great site. Thanks. Joy Guyer

  2. I was listening to Ralph Savory's tape on the site. He was a longtime friend of my mother, Betty Neese Guyer, and my grandmother, Mary Neese. While listening to the tape I heard Kenny's name mentioned and I think you did not pick up on it. WHen Ralph was talking about starting flying with Star Air Service, he says the manager of Star AIr Service (Kenny Neese) offered him a job. I have heard this sotry many times.

  4. Funny how one thing leads to another on the internet. Looking up Moore Creek, came across a picture of Ralph Savory with an interesting caption---he worked for Star and Pan Am about the same time my father, Virgil Hanson did. I got curious and think I found Savory and his daughter Diane living in Santa Rosa, CA. I'll be giving them a call fairly soon. My dad was a radio man for McGee, Star, Alaska and I believe Pan Am. My brother, Alan Hanson was a radio man for Cordova Airlines, Northern Consolidated, Wien and Reeve Aleutian Airlines. We lived across from Merrill Field during WWII and I can still remember some of it. My dad took pictures and 16MM movies as a hobby and I wound up with his movies and some pictures. I had the movies transferred to VHS video a few years back by AMIPA. I just put them on DVD's to hopefully preserve them better. I'm in the process of doing a little editing now as they are pretty mixed up. I went to a Cook Inlet Historical meeting a couple months ago and enjoyed a show put on by the Alaska Aviation Museum which got me interested in aviation history again. I was born in Juneau in 1939 and didn't have much to do with aviation myself and wound up in Girdwood, AK. Don't want to leave email address because of spammers. Too bad these projects aren't advertised to the general public so you can find more contributors. I found this site strictly by accident. 1. I was able to connect with Ralph Savory and he recalled working with my father V. Hanson. Sad to say, Ralph passed away 2 weeks after our conversation. I've since moved to Paradise, CA but my brother & sisters are still in Anchorage. George Hanson 530-717-7991 now.
